The Collection
Babs Boutique returns to the New York Fashion Week runway with a new collection of handcrafted pieces — the same made-to-order couture Liz builds for clients in El Paso and Lufkin, presented on a New York stage.
Every garment is cut and constructed by hand in the Babs Boutique studios in El Paso and Lufkin. Nothing is mass produced, and nothing is bought in. What walks the runway is the same work that walks out of the shop.

Not their first time in New York.
The studio has been picking up recognition for years — on the runway, on a film set, and once on a rifle range in England.

Humanitarian of the Year
Beauty It’s Everywhere Awards, New York Fashion Week

Earlier work was shown under the studio’s former name, Heike & Liz, which is how these awards are recorded.
Liz Monroy & Celeste Green
Two studios, two makers, one label. Between them they cut, fit, and finish everything that carries the Babs Boutique name.
Liz Monroy
El Paso studio
Liz is co-founder and lead designer at Babs Boutique. She started sewing at eight years old in her mother’s bedroom, learning how to pin a pattern onto fabric — and has been making things ever since.
An art educator with nineteen years in the classroom, she now builds custom garments and teaches sewing at the El Paso studio, in English and Spanish. The skill her mother passed to her, she passes on.
Celeste Green
Lufkin studio
Celeste is co-founder and co-designer, and a lifelong sewist. She was working with fabric before she was five, constructed her first full garment at nine for a 4-H fashion show, and by sixteen had earned the Make It With Wool national scholarship with a tailored wool suit.
She now leads the same 4-H program that first put a needle in her hand, mentoring young makers while designing and constructing custom pageant dresses for her own girls and for competitors across the region.
